The image is surreal. It looked so beautiful last night. A glowing ball peeking out from the hill beyond our home. Seeing the moon through our agave here, as Leigh photographed it, makes me feel blessed to live in such beauty. I nature was all around us in New York, but somehow I never saw it clearly. Too crowded, with too much hustle and too many buildings. But we all should try to cut through the noise to see what nature tells us.
They would be VERY impressive indeed if hand held. Nope, all with tripod. and the shots are color. I was going to de saturate them of a total B&W look, but then I liked the very slight color cast in them, so I left them as color.
All taken with the wired Nikon remote (thank you Steven) and without the telescope. Just the 70-200VRmm, with the VR turned off. The weird thing was, using the remote, the camera would take 3-5 shots for every press of the remote shutter. I must have somehow enabled a multiple shot feature. Now to figure out how to disable it!
HOW DO THE ANIMALS NEGOTIATE SUCH A PRICKLY ENVIRONMENT AT NIGHT?

Nice shots. How and why did you do black and white. They are very clean. Also, did you use the telescope converter on shot two?
